Why he might be annoying:

He believes that the minor-league farm system is the key to success in a baseball team, yet for the 2002-03 season, he was able to acquire David Ortiz, Kevin Millar, Jeremy Giambi, Byung-Hyun Kim, Scott Sauerbeck, and Jeff Suppan through free-agency and trades.
He wasn't the first choice for the job of GM. Oakland Athletics' GM Billy Beane was.
It is rumored that he lost out in the battle with the Yankees to sign Cuban star Jose Contreras.
After learning that the Yankees signed Contreras, he punched a hole in a wall.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the youngest GM in baseball history.
His moves have improved the Red Sox dramatically.
He's in a constant battle with George Steinbrenner.
His grandfather and grand-uncle wrote the Oscar-Award winning movie 'Casablanca.'
He's living his dream.
