Musician

The Resume

    (July 15, 1915-October 14, 1998)
    Born in Davis, West Virginia
    Accordionist
Recorded the gold records 'Just Because' (1948) and 'Blue Skirt Waltz' (1949)
    Known as America's Polka King

Why he might be annoying:

He first recorded under a pseudonym because he had not joined the musician's union.
He recorded the 'Too Fat Polka' with Drew Carey.
Some music trivia books erroneously claim he is the father of Weird Al Yankovic; despite the name and shared affinity for accordions, they are not related.
He gave a farewell tour (1994), but kept playing concerts.

Why he might not be annoying:

He almost lost his hands and feet to frostbite during the Battle of the Bulge.
He won the first Grammy for Best Polka Recording.
He came out of retirement because 'As long as the people keep wanting me to play and I can still move, I'll play.'
