Why he might be annoying:

After the 2006 season, he signed a seven-year, $126 million dollar contract to remain with the Blue Jays.
Over the next three seasons after he signed the contract extension, he would suffer injuries causing him to miss significant playing time.
By the time he was traded to the Angels in early 2011, he was long ridiculed for performing well below what he was worth in the previous few seasons.
He shares a name with an actor who appeared in such films as 'Mad Max II' and 'Commando,' as well as a regular role as the main villain in 'Power Rangers: Time Force.'
At the 2010 Home Run Derby, Chris Berman thought he would win the contest. He only hit two home runs and did not get out of the first round.

Why he might not be annoying:

Even he has said that he's not worth what he's being paid.
In 2003, he led the majors in hits, doubles and total bases.
He was the fourth Blue Jay to have 30 or more home runs in at least three seasons.
Along with his wife, he founded the Perfect 10 foundation to aid single mothers and their children.
In 2010, he won the Branch Rickey award for his humanitarian contributions.
