    His last name appears to missing a vowel.
    He suffered a season ending injury as a result of horseplay in the clubhouse (September 22, 1990) and later told reporters 'I've always been a screwoff and I'm not going to change now.'
    He was involved in a controversial play during Game 2 of the 1991 World Series, when he apparently used his greater heft to lift Ron Gant off the bag and tag him out.
    During his first year of Hall of Fame eligibility, he got just five votes.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He hit the first home run in the Metrodome (April 3, 1982).
    He turned down a more lucrative offer from the Boston Red Sox to stay with his hometown team.
    General Manager Andy MacPhail said, 'He is a delightful person. He plays the game like it is a game, and you come to admire that today.'
    His father died of Lou Gehrig's disease and he hosts an annual charity golf tournament to raise funds for research.
