    Founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak
    First modern computer was the Apple II, released in 1977
    Released the Macintosh brand of computers in 1984
    Released the PowerBook in 1991, the forerunner of the modern laptop computer
    Released the iMac in 1998
    Released the iPod in 2001 and launched the iTunes store in 2003
    Released the iPhone in 2007

Why Apple Inc. might be annoying:

    Their computers do not support nearly as much software as Windows computers do.
    They exaggerated their sales figures for the Apple II in order to boost their sales.
    They ran the infamous '1984' commercial in Super Bowl XVIII, which led to the trend of companies pouring all that money into advertising during the Super Bowl.
    Jobs was fired in 1985 after having power struggles with the CEO of Apple.
    They sued Microsoft for 'theft of intellectual property' when they couldn't keep up with their R&D department.
    Two of their products, the iPod and the iPhone, led to a huge consumer craze that distracted the news media from important stories such as Britney Spears' personal life.
    People who use Macintosh computers believe that they are superior to those who use PCs.
    They call the technical support people at their stores 'geniuses.'
    It doesn't let users know of deficiencies in software until they release a fix for it.
    Rumors have spread that iPods were manufactured in Chinese sweatshops.

Why Apple Inc. might not be annoying:

    They are a leader in educational software.
    Their computers run much faster than PCs.
    Bill Gates believes their computers are superior to Microsoft's products.
    Their computers are featured in pop culture media, such as Scrubs and Foxtrot.
    They have developed software that allows users to run Windows programs on their Macs.
    They created several important computer products, including the laptop computer, the PDA, and the mouse.
    It has the highest percentage of customer loyalty of all computer manufacturers.
    Their tech support people are housed in American and speak English.
