He does cameos in most of his films, including donning drag to play Richard Dreyfuss's mother in 'Moon Over Parador.'
He also cast his analyst, Donald F. Muhich, in three of his films.
He said he had trouble getting financing for his films since the 90s due to 'ageism.' (As opposed to 'poor box office.')
He said, 'I've always felt very Jewish, but very ambivalent about being Jewish.'

Why he might not be annoying:

Critic Vincent Canby wrote, 'No film by Mr. Mazursky is ever totally unrewarding.'
He was nominated for screenwriting Oscars four times.
His daughter Meg died from brain cancer (2009).
He said, 'I had this period from 1969 to about 1990 where I got to do whatever I wanted. So I have nothing to complain about.'
