Why she might be annoying:

    When Eric Thompson first proposed to her, she thought he was drunk; they ended up not talking to each other for a couple of weeks.
    Her first attempt at cooking after getting married went so badly, she hid the results in a wardrobe.
    She auditioned unsuccessfully for the role of one of Doctor Who’s first companions, Barbara Wright.
    A lot of her later film roles have been supporting parts in her daughter’s films.
    She described herself as ‘rather stern and unforgiving.’

Why she might not be annoying:

    She joined the Bristol Old Vic to train as a stage designer before discovering ‘by happy accident’ that she enjoyed acting.
    She was a presenter on ‘Play School,’ the first show aired on BBC2. (1964).
    She has been a longtime supporter of the charities Fight for Sight and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
    She has been described by interviewers as having ‘a madcap sense of humor.’
    Until she started suffering the effects of Parkinson’s disease, she lived on the same street in London as her daughters and regularly dined with them.
