Mayor

The Resume

    (June 7, 1974- )
    Born in South Bay, Florida
    Attended Florida State University
Wide receiver for the Florida State Seminoles (1993-96)
Wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals (1997)
Elected Mayor of Miramar, Florida in 2015
Announced his candidacy for the Democratic Party's Presidential nomination (March 28, 2019)

Why he might be annoying:

His stint in the NFL lasted barely a year (the Bengals released him as an undrafted free agent before the season started).
He won election to Mayor with only eight percent of the city population turning out to vote.
He announced his Presidential exploratory committee a day after winning reelection.
He steadfastly refuses to end his Presidential campaign despite failing to qualify for any Democratic debate and polling under one percent in Presidential polls.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the son of Jamaican immigrant cane cutters.
He is the fourth of five kids - and the first to be born in the United States.
He is more outwardly charismatic than many of the leading contenders for President.
He was part of the Florida Seminoles' 1993 national championship team.
He successfully challenged and unseated an incumbent Mayor.
He has made climate change and the eliminating of the nation's student loan debt his campaign's signature issues.
He joined a group of Florida mayors who sued governor Rick Scott over a bill which imposed a $5,000 fine for cities that passed regulations for gun control.
