They had to wait until 2012 to make their MLS debut, as a result of construction delays at Saputo Stadium.
Their color scheme is similar to that of the old Quebec Nordiques.
They lost their first MLS game.
They are the only one of Montréal's professional sports franchises not to have red in the color scheme.

Why Montreal Impact might not be annoying:

They were granted membership into the MLS, as part of a strategy to grow the game in Canada.
They have a great rivalry with Toronto F.C., which continues the legacy of the sporting rivalries between the two cities.
They kept the Impact nickname upon being granted an MLS franchise, in order to preserve its brand which was successful in the NASL.
Their primary logo pays tribute to the Québécois culture.
They have a strong following amongst its fanbase, many of whom followed the team to its ascension to MLS.
