Why she might be annoying:

    She was arrested in Chicago for stealing $1,000 worth of jewels (1925).
    She refused to go with the arresting officers unless she could bring her German shepherd and chow with her.
    In addition to sharing her cell with her dogs, she decorated it with an autographed photo of Enrico Caruso.
    She eventually confessed to stealing the jewels to get money for her cocaine addiction.
    She died from alcohol poisoning.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She went to work as a restaurant cashier in her teens after her father died.
    She wrote a series of cautionary newspaper articles about her addiction and her search for a cure (1926).
    She was called ‘America’s most beautiful girl’ and ‘queen of the magazine covers.’
