Why she might be annoying:

She’s not an actual chef, she just plays one in her stage show.
Her coiffed Southern-accented chef character Jewell Mae is most likely a parody of Paula Deen.
She would open her live shows saying ‘I’m not going to get political tonight’ and then would (an LA Times review wrote ‘one wishes Thorndale delivered more laughs with less message’).
She gives her dish recipes political names like Hillary's Black & Bleu Salad, <12878>Barack<12878> Chocolate, and Republican Backyard Barbecue: Getting Porked Three Ways.
She wrote an essay for ‘Feckless [C-Word]: A Feminist Anthology’ and it was titled ‘[C-Word]: A Petite Memoir’ (only both works used the actual ‘See Ya Next Tuesday’ word).

Why she might not be annoying:

She is a regular contributor to the website Funny or Die.
Her first TV acting gig was in an Unsolved Mysteries reenactment.
She worked with Marc Maron and Tig Nataro.
She joined Tim Robbins’ The Actors’ Gang in 2004 where she performed and taught for 12 years in their acclaimed Prison Project.
She toured her improvised show to Chicago, NYC, and throughout California’s state prisons.
Her show involved her cooking a different ‘jailbreak cake’ at each show, all the while making double entendres about prison reform (lines about the $3 billion spent on the California penal system or the small percentage of jailed drug offenders getting treatment while behind bars).
She always served the delicacies she cooked onstage to the audience in the show’s afterparty.
