The Resume

    (April 24, 1925-February 28, 1981)
    Born in Wisner, Nebraska
    Birth name: Virginia Ellen Houston
Appeared in 'Nocturne', 'Flamingo Road', 'Tarzan's Peril', 'Sudden Fear', and 'Ford Television Theater'

Why she might be annoying:

Her mother was a true 'stage mother' who recognized that Virginia had talent, and could make money from it.
She appeared in multiple Omaha stage shows, in particular the Omaha Community Playhouse, where Henry Fonda and Dorothy McGuire got their start.
By the age of twenty, she and her mother headed out to Hollywood, taking her three year old brother with them.
She signed with RKO, and soon fell into film noir, mostly playing naive good girls.
While filming 'Flamingo Road' she began a torrid love affair with Robert Mitchum that lasted beyond the production.
In an interview, she said how her stomach was often in knots during filming, and she could not eat properly as a result. In order to maintain her strength, she drank a strong beef concentrate with an egg thrown in it.
She was billed as 'The Bobby Sox Star'.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was very sensitive, and knew she would not last long in the Hollywood culture.
Her career stalled after she was critically injured in a car accident.
She played Jane in one 'Tarzan' movie, 'Tarzan's Peril'.
After appearing in a variety of low-budget Westerns, she quit acting and married Manus Clinton, a wealthy real estate agent.
She divorced not long after her daughter was born, and never remarried.
She died of cancer at fifty.
