    She appeared on the unpopular reality show ‘Rock Star: INXS.’
    She has an unfeminine, almost baritone voice.
    She sounds a bit like Eddie Vedder.
    ‘Rock Star’ judge Dave Navarro frequently complimented her looks instead of her singing.
    INXS often criticized her for being unable to change her vocal style.
    She was whiny and took criticism poorly.
    A voice coach on the show told her she’d lose her voice in five years if she didn’t learn healthier vocal techniques.

    Her voice, although strange, is strong and distinctive.
    She stood up for her own artistic vision, rather than simply changing her style because INXS wanted her to.
