The Resume

    (November 19, 2003-December 17, 2004)
    Aired on TV Land
    Hosted by Alf
    Announcer/Sidekick was Ed McMahon
First guests were Drew Carey and Dennis Franz
Premise: ALF attempts a talk show with disastrous results
    Cancelled after only seven episodes

Why ALF's Hit Talk Show might be annoying:

    It's title was presumptuous.
Exhibit A: Most 'hit talk shows' tend to last more than seven episodes...
Its host made one crack to Tom Green asking if it counts as dating 'if you paid for it' (you heard right: Alf is down to do it with hookers).
GetBack.com named it one of the ten 'Worst Talk Shows in TV History.'
It unsurprisingly drew only B-list celebrities and washed up entertainers.
It is regarded as among the worst talk show flops of all time.
Its failure is believed to have scared TV Land off from producing original shows until Hot in Cleveland in 2010.

Why ALF's Hit Talk Show might not be annoying:

It was all in harmless fun.
It was originally intended to be a one-time lead-in for a TV Land ALF sitcom marathon but gained enough views for more shows to be greenlit.
It made history as the first Late Night show to be hosted by an alien life form (or cat-eating puppet).
It gave Ed McMahon yet another opportunity to collect a paycheck just for laughing at bad jokes.
It was still funnier than The Chevy Chase Show.
