The Resume

    (November 5, 1992- )
    Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Birth name is Odell Cornelious Beckham Jr.
Played for Louisiana State University (LSU), from 2011 to 2013
Drafted by the Giants in the twelfth round of the 2014 overall NFL draft
Wide receiver for The New York Giants
Came under national scrutiny for allegedly punching a hole in a locker room wall at Lambeau Field following the Giants' playoff loss to The Green Bay Packers (Jan. 8, 2017)

Why he might be annoying:

He posed nude for the ESPN Magazine Body Issue.
He claimed that rumors that he was dating Khloe Kardashian did harm to his actual relationship.
He drew criticism for being ungracious and overemotional during losing games.
A video of him singing Marvin Gaye while thoroughly luxuriating in the locker room hot-tub with a male teammate went viral, leading to rumors that he was a closeted gay (Aug. 2016).
He cried on the sidelines of a Giants-Redskins game and punched a kicking net, which rebounded and smacked him in the face (Sept. 25, 2016).
He came off as cocky when he and teammate Victor Cruz took up a valuable weekend leading up to a 2017 playoff game by vacationing in Miami with Justin Bieber and Trey Songz.
The viral photos released of him and Cruz partying on a yacht proved to be a public relations nightmare, with even Eli Manning attempting to distance himself from the fiasco.
When his team proceeded to lose to the Green Bay Packers by nearly twenty points, he presented himself as reserved to the press. Hours later, witnesses attested to seeing him banging his head against a locker room door before punching a hole through the wall (the notion of fining him was entertained but nothing came of it).

Why he might not be annoying:

His godfather was Shaquille O'Neal (his dad's college roommate).
His parents were both star athletes at LSU. His stepfather also won a gold medal in the 4x400 meter relay at the 1996 Olympics.
He earned a tryout for a spot on the U.S. National Youth Soccer Team, at the age of 14, but turned it down to pursue a career in 'American football.'
His infamous 'one-handed catch' made falling backwards during a 2014 game against the Dallas Cowboys established him as an A-level player, earning him the 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
At the age of 22, he became the youngest player to grace the cover of a Madden NFL VG cover, for the 2016 edition.
He earned the title of fastest player in NFL history, having reached both 200 career receptions and 4,000 career receiving yards by 2016.
He and Victor Cruz paid tribute to the victims of 9/11 by wearing a pair of commemorative cleats for the season opener (an uproar occurred after the NFL motioned toward fining the players over such a thing).
YouTubers of all ideological stripes rushed to his defense after Lena Dunham decided to make him the object of her jealous insecurity after the two were seated next to each other at the Metropolitan Gala, all but claiming to have read his mind to determine that he was sexist.
The specific context of her tirade was as follows: 'He looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards. He was like, That’s a marshmallow. That’s a child. That’s a dog. It wasn’t mean — he just seemed confused. The vibe was very much like, Do I want to fuck it? Is it wearing a … yep, it’s wearing a tuxedo. I’m going to go back to my cell phone' (she later apologized).
