Third base coach for the New York Yankees (1994-2003)
Manager for the New York Mets (2005-2008)
Bench coach for the New York Yankees (2004) and the Milwaukee Brewers (2009- )

Why he might be annoying:

He was a journeyman player.
He guided the Mets to their NLCS loss to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games (2006).
He lost in the NL Manager of the Year voting to Joe Girardi (2006).
His Mets team's seven game lead collapsed and they eventually lost the NL East division to the Philadelphia Phillies later in the 2007 season.
The Mets fired him as manager three months into the 2008 season.
After his firing, he whined to the media.

He had good abilities to turn double plays.
He won six World Series rings with the Yankees as a player (1977-1978) and a coach (1996, 1998-2000).
He was a calm hitter.
He was named the Yankees' team captain throughout the second half of the 1980s.
He ended the Atlanta Braves' 11 NL East title winning streak as he guided the Mets to their first NL East title in 18 years (2006).
