Why she might be annoying:

She ran into bars with a hatchet and chopped up liquor bottles.
She would scream to her followers, 'Smash, ladies, smash!'
She was arrested more than 30 times.
She claimed she heard the voice of God.
She described herself as 'a bulldog running along the feet of Jesus, barking at what he doesn't like.'
She actually looked like a bulldog.
She was a failed school teacher.
She legally changed her name to Carry A. Nation, because that is what she thought she was doing.
She was 6'0 and 175 pounds.

Why she might not be annoying:

She had hundreds of followers.
She hated alcohol because her first husband drank himself to death.
Because of Kansas' Prohibition laws, many of the saloons she attacked were actually illegal.
When she appeared in barrooms, strong men would get out of her way.
When brought before the Kansas State Senate, she said: 'You refused me the vote and I had to use a rock.'
