She caught syphilis while working as a low-tier geisha.
On May 18, 1936, after asphyxiating her married lover, she castrated him.
She carried his genitalia in her purse for a few days before being apprehended.
She smiled upon being arrested.
When her prison sentence was commuted in 1940, she changed her name and married.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was the original Lorena Bobbitt.
She was raped at 14.
Her father sold her to a geisha house a few years after the rape.
Her husband divorced her after finding out her real identity.
The story of her life was made into the legendary 1976 film 'In The Realm of the Senses.'
